One of our many treatments that can keep our patients’ skin looking younger, fuller, and wrinkle-free is our injectable service, which offers a non-surgical alternative to cosmetic dermatology. You can find out more below or by contacting our Sewell, NJ dermatology facility.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical way to achieve a more youthful appearance. It is effective in treating frown lines between the eyebrows, wrinkles on the forehead, and crow’s feet in the corner of the eyes. And unlike surgery, Botox is fast, simple, and minimally invasive, with no downtime or recovery. That’s why Botox treatments are the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the United States.

Restylane

Restylane is a safe and natural FDA-approved cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines between the upper lip and nose.

Juvederm™

Juvederm™ is a ‘next-generation’ dermal filler designed to fill in lines and wrinkles on the skin around the lips, and in the nasolabial folds. Similar to Restylane, Juvederm™ is a newer FDA-approved hyaluronic acid liquid that can correct wrinkles and facial folds for up to one year. Juvederm’s difference lies in its smooth consistency that can be beneficial for some patients. Dr. Segal can help you decide which filler would be best for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

BOTOX® Cosmetic

How Does It Work?

Botox Cosmetic works by temporarily relaxing the tiny facial muscles in a precise area, causing the treated site to become smooth and wrinkle free. The surrounding facial muscles are not affected, which allows for normal facial expression.

How Is The Procedure Done?

During your treatment, Dr. Segal will first carefully determine exactly where to place the Botox. A tiny amount of solution is then injected into the facial muscles using a very small needle. No sedation or local anesthesia is needed.

What Kind Of Results Can I Expect?

In about three days, you will start to notice the lines smoothing in the treated areas, leading to a more relaxed and youthful appearance. For your first treatment, the effects usually last 3 to 4 months. But studies have shown that the results will often last longer, up to 4 to 8 months, after several treatments with Botox. For more information, visit botoxcosmetic.com.

Restylane

What Is Restylane?

Restylane is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.

How Safe Is Restylane?

Dermatologists and plastic surgeons have used Restylane safely worldwide since 1996 in more than 3 million treatments. Because Restylane is non-animal-based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within several days.

How Long Does Restylane Last?

The benefits of Restylane generally last for about six months.
